“Do me a favor,” he says.

I wait.

“Believe in us.”

‘What Light’ by Jay Asher is a heartwarming and very Christmas-y novel.

I was so thrilled when I’ve first saw this book. I’ve read Thirteen Reasons Why and it had an effect on me, but I was surprised when the plot of this novel was very different from Jay Asher’s other books.

At first, I thought it was just a simple love story but it isn’t. It’s also the type of book that you’ll want to read slowly – like every word has to be kept in your heart before moving to the next sentence.

This novel discusses long distance relationship and holiday love affair that sure some of you can relate to. And this book is incredibly much shorter than the other novels I’ve read so get ready to keep wanting more. You’ll also get to learn some peculiar words here because Sierra have very rich vocabulary that you could list down and use in the future conversations.

The characters are just simple teenagers, they don’t have powers but they can melt readers’ hearts too.

Sierra is an ordinary teenager. She lives in Oregon but her family has a tree farm in California. They visit it every holiday for their family business, which is selling trees for Christmas.

Caleb is a teenager boy as well, who lives in California. He met Sierra when he bought a tree. Also, there’s a rumor running around the town about him.

This is for readers who are finding a great read for this Christmas season and for those who have partners and even single ones too – like me. This love story is very on time for Christmas season and if you’re a fan of Jay Asher’s works, you’ll like this too.
